RPS 205 Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council Donates New Materials to Boys and Girls Club
The RPS 205 Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council (SSAC) was awarded the In Youth We Trust Grant through the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois. The $750 grant is dedicated to supporting youth-led volunteering projects. SSAC council members used the grant to embark on a community service project, partnering with the Boys and Girls Club of Rockford.
With the grant, the SSAC purchased new supplies and materials for the Boys and Girls Club and delivered the donations on Nov. 24. Donations included headphones, inspiring posters and art supplies, which are much needed during COVID-19 to prevent children from sharing materials. The SSAC hopes that these materials will make a lasting impact on children at the Boys and Girls Club.
