Two dedicated Securatex employees who serve Rockford Public Schools have received top honors for their exceptional performance and leadership. Cheyenne Walker has been named Officer in Charge of the Year, and Shantora Thompson has been named Officer of the Year—recognitions celebrated by the RPS managers who works closely with the security team.
These Securatex officers exclusively serve Rockford Public Schools and have become integral to the safe and smooth operation of school buildings and events. The RPS managers, impressed by their professionalism, leadership, and unwavering dedication to the district, nominated both women for their awards.
Officer in Charge of the Year – Cheyenne Walker
Cheyenne Walker joined Securatex in August 2023 and quickly proved to be a strong, dependable leader. She manages one of the district’s most complex and high-pressure security sites, consistently maintaining high standards and earning the respect of both her team and RPS staff.
Her ability to guide a large team, solve problems quickly, and de-escalate tense situations with calm professionalism has made a significant impact on day-to-day operations. Even after a serious car accident, Cheyenne returned to work with her signature resilience and focus, inspiring her team and reinforcing the trust of school leadership.

Shantora Thompson has been with Securatex since September 2022 and has become a standout officer known for her reliability, professionalism, and initiative. She is always willing to step in where needed, learning the ins and outs of multiple school sites and approaching every task with a positive attitude.
