PreK and Kindergarten enrollment lotteries are now open through March 8 for select Special Program Schools.
Steps to Enroll
Step 1: Gather all of the required documents

Certified birth certificate (original – not photocopy).

Parent/guardian photo ID.

Two acceptable proofs of residency. PDFs available in English, Spanish & Arabic.

Bring the child if a language other than English is spoken in the home for the state-required language assessment.

If your student has an IEP for students receiving special education services, complete this Consent for release of information SpEd form.
The forms below will be given to you during your visit or you can print them before coming to the Welcome Center.
Step 2: Visit the Welcome Center
Current School Year: 2023-2024
- To enroll for this current school year, visit the Welcome Center in person. Students entering grades 6-12 may also enroll at their zone middle or high school.*
- Be sure to bring all of the required documents in step 1.
- Bring the child if a language other than English is spoken in the home for the state-required language assessment.
- An enrollment specialist will confirm your child's school assignment during your visit.
*If another language other than English is spoken in the home you must bring the child with you to enroll in-person at the Welcome Center not your zone school.
Next School Year: 2024-2025
Pre-enrollment for the 2024-2025 school year is now available online or in-person.
RPS 205 offers several alternative special program schools that give our families a public education option outside of their regular neighborhood zone school. Enrollment for these schools has additional criteria. Learn More.
