At its June 17 meeting, the Rockford Public School District 205 Board of Education unanimously voted to approve BWP & Associates as the executive search firm to lead the search for the district’s next superintendent.
BWP & Associates was selected from a pool of 13 companies that submitted proposals. Firms were evaluated based on qualifications, experience placing superintendents in districts of similar size and demographics, retention rates, search strategy, scope of work, network and resources, and references.
Finalist interviews were conducted on June 10. BWP & Associates is a national search firm, with its headquarters in the Chicagoland area. The firm offers a high level of expertise and extensive knowledge for recruiting exceptionally talented people. As part of the search process, BWP will collaboratively engage large segments of the community to identify the specific characteristics needed for a superintendent to be successful in the Rockford Public Schools.
Rockford School Board President Paul Carpenter says, "The Board looks forward to working with BWP and Associates to seek input from all stakeholders and interested members of the community, as we define the qualities we need in a successful superintendent for RPS, and to locate and recruit candidates with those qualities."
BWP will meet with the board to establish opportunities and timelines for community input. These dates will be published as soon as they are set.
