The Early Childhood Prevention Initiative program ended the summer with the most curious minds taking a STEM adventure. There were little sparks of scientific innovation being made throughout the park as these littles learned what they could do with some household products and a grown-up, of course.
Did you know that with some cardboard, aluminum foil, pipe cleaners and other random household items you can make a ramp for your little to learn about distance? Well, our littles and their parents learned and this and put it into action. Car racing action that is!
There were opportunities to combine baking soda and lemons with dish soap and create their own volcanoes-the faces, ahs and giggles from that one was priceless. Other opportunities included learning to make ooblek. This was a little scientist’s favorite, but not a parent favorite, way too messy. Littles were able to blow up balloons with vinegar and baking soda. There were so many floating balloons around the park on this day.
At the end of the day, everyone realized to be a good scientist, you must explore all your senses and of course get messy!
