A nutrition education event was recently held for RPS205 Early Childhood families. This event was coordinated by the Early Childhood Family Educators and Home Visiting teams to support nutrition education and provide a time for families to come together. Chef Terrell , owner of Jack It Up Vegan Eats, joined as our special guest and presenter for the evening. His passion for a sustainable vegan lifestyle as a healthy alternative guides his recipes and menu options. Chef Terrell demonstrated vegan cooking techniques as he prepared cauliflower tacos for the participants to sample. He also took the time to share other vegan food alternatives and provided recipes for families to try at home. He spoke in depth about key factors to consider when thinking about nutrition for personal health for adults as well as for children. His presentation combined information, humor and demonstration to assist the audience in making mindful nutritional decisions that support our overall well-being.
