Students at Flinn Middle School recently have the opportunity to learn more about beauty techniques and career pathways during its Hair2Beauty Club. The after-school club, which was relaunched for its second year, was originally created during the 2024–2025 school year after students expressed interest in having a space to learn about hair care and beauty. The program continues to provide a positive and engaging environment where students can explore styling techniques, hair health, and the importance of embracing different hair types and textures.
During a recent meeting, the club welcomed guest speaker Mrs. Samantha Hart, a natural hairstylist and realtor, as well as Cosmetology and Spa Academy representatives. Students also learned about potential career paths in cosmetology, including hairstyling, barbering, nail technology, makeup artistry, lash services, esthetics, and owning a beauty-related business. The session included hands-on demonstrations and interactive discussions, allowing students to ask questions and engage directly with working professionals.
The Hair2Beauty Club was designed to give students something meaningful to look forward to each week while helping them build confidence and learn valuable skills. Club organizers also aim to bring in additional industry professionals to introduce students to the wide range of opportunities available in the beauty field.
By combining practical learning with conversations about self-image and hair culture, the club continues to inspire students to explore their interests and imagine future possibilities.
