Friday's game against Belvidere was a heartbreaker for Jefferson Varsity J-Hawks, as they lost the lead late in a 4-3 defeat. The game was tied at three in the bottom of the sixth when L Sternquist grounded out, scoring one run.

Jefferson Varsity J-Hawks were the first to get on the board in the first when Gavin Erbe singled, scoring one run.

Jefferson Varsity J-Hawks added one run in the second. Jefferson Varsity J-Hawks scored on a passed ball, making the score 2-0.

Belvidere captured the lead, 4-3, in the bottom of the sixth when Sternquist singled, scoring two runs, and Sternquist grounded out, scoring one run.

Gio Urbietta earned the win for Belvidere. The pitcher surrendered one hit and zero runs over two innings, striking out three and walking none. Sebastian Bracius took the loss for Jefferson Varsity J-Hawks. The hurler went six innings, surrendering four runs on five hits, striking out five and walking two. Elijah Follis stepped on the hill first for Belvidere. The pitcher surrendered two hits and two runs (one earned) over two innings, striking out two and walking four.

Erbe provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Jefferson Varsity J-Hawks with two runs batted in. The left-handed hitter went 1-for-4 on the day. Devin Williamson went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Jefferson Varsity J-Hawks in hits.

Sternquist led Belvidere with two runs batted in from the number eight spot in the lineup. The catcher went 1-for-3 on the day. Urbietta and Frankie Freeman each collected two hits for Belvidere. Urbietta stole three bases. Belvidere stole four bases in the game.
