Committee of the Whole Road Show! This year, Committee of the Whole School Board meetings will be held at different schools each month. First stop: RESA Middle School on Tues, Sept. 2 at 6pm with a presentation from Principal Ben Stover. Join us where learning happens every day!

Big smiles, little backpacks, and lots of first-day excitement! Our Early Childhood Centers are buzzing with curiosity and joy as our youngest learners started their school adventure yesterday.
From farm to school: This year, Auburn, East, Guilford, & Jefferson will serve fresh and regionally-grown menu items from The Common Market. They work with farmers from across the area. Between August 20th to mid-September, we’re featuring Olden Organics from Ripon, Wisconsin. They’re providing broccoli, carrots, cucumbers, watermelon & cantaloupe for our students!

Our schools are buzzing again! Staff returned today for Teacher Institute Day. Washington Elementary kicked off with a warm welcome & celebration from RPS 205 administration. Teacher Institute continues tomorrow. We’re ready for an amazing year. K-12 classes start this Thursday!
Attention incoming high school students at The Quad: Bring your schedule and walk your classes at its Open House. There will be guided tours from 4-6 tonight or Wednesday from 5-7 to get those students ready for the school year!
Due to new FAA rules & light pole damage, night games at Auburn's Wyeth Stadium will be moved or rescheduled. Day games continue as planned. Check Auburn & Jefferson athletic sites for updates. Guilford's Swanson Stadium remains open for student athletes.
STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) will be rolling up to West Middle School for the upcoming school year. Students from Haskell (where this program has been housed for elementary) are able to continue in this special program in middle school for the first time ever! This program will serve 6th grade students at West in 2025-2026 and will continue to roll up all the way to 8th grade in the coming years. This special program is open to families that reside in Rockford Public School boundaries.

The first day of school for K-12 students is one week from today on Thursday, August 14. Early Childhood Centers start on Monday, August 18. Please double check your student's start and dismissal times at their school as well as the district's academic calendar.
Cherry Valley Elementary hit the road today for a Mobile Block Party! Administration & staff met families in their neighborhoods, played games, handed out backpacks & treats, and shared learning materials. It was all about building relationships and community support!
