This week, we rolled out the red carpet for 200 new teachers at orientation! They learned all about RPS 205 and are ready to inspire, teach, and make a difference in our classrooms. Here’s to a great school year ahead!
The first day of school for K-12 students is one week from today on Thursday, August 14. Early Childhood Centers start on Monday, August 18. Please double check your student's start and dismissal times at their school as well as the district's academic calendar.
Cherry Valley Elementary hit the road today for a Mobile Block Party! Administration & staff met families in their neighborhoods, played games, handed out backpacks & treats, and shared learning materials. It was all about building relationships and community support!
Brothers for Change hit the streets Monday for a Knock & Talk, inviting families to their Back to School Bash! They visited neighborhoods & handed out flyers. Don’t miss this Saturday, Aug. 9, 4:30–7:30 PM at Auburn Fieldhouse for free backpacks, food, games, & more.
John Ekberg of Circle Boring & Machine visited Roosevelt Community Education Center summer school students to share insight into local manufacturing careers. He discussed skills needed, answered questions, and gave hands-on demos with tools and machines used in the field.
We kicked off the school year with our Administration Building Back to School BBQ on Friday! Cabinet members served up lunch to staff, and prizes were handed out. Huge thanks to our Human Resources, IT, Operations, Communications departments, & GSF for making it all happen!

RPS 205 just finished up its Summer Sports Camps! Over the course of four weeks, 4-8 grade students got to try 16 different high school sports, ranging from soccer & cheer to football, swimming, golf, & more. Huge thanks to all the coaches & bus drivers who made it possible!

The first day of preschool for RPS 205 is less than 3 weeks away! This time of year gets very busy for our Early Childhood department. We are open Mon-Fri from 8-4 at 501 7th St. Beat the August rush and come see us to enroll your student now!
Our summer graduates walked across the stage on Friday to receive their high school diplomas. The ceremony took place at Jefferson High School. Congratulations Class of 2025!
