They'll also have the opportunity to earn a free master's degree along the way! We're thrilled to support these students and can't wait to see them develop into outstanding educators. We look forward to welcoming them back to our district to help shape the future of Rockford!

What makes school-based sports at RPS 205 different? Our teams are part of the IESA and IHSA and coaches are trained on how to maintain safe environments and make positive connections with kids. Also, we want our RPS students to try many sports before they settle in on the one or two (or three!) they love. Until they try a particular sport, a child won’t know if they have a knack for it! That’s where our RPS 205 Summer Sports Camps come into play. They’ll get a chance to be led by our awesome coaches and can choose sports they already know or sports that are new to them. Our camps are for RPS students entering grades 4-8 and we’ll offer every sport that is available at the middle and high school levels. Register here: https://manage.snap.app/register/rps205

LAST CHANCE: Today is the deadline to tell us about your favorite RPS 205 Teacher! We're looking for stories to share during Teacher Appreciation Week in May. Submit your story at rps205.com/page/thank-a-teacher to be considered for publication on the 205 VIBE.

Summer fun starts here! Whether you’re into music, STEM, sports, or something in between, our summer programs offer endless opportunities to learn and make new friends. We have limited spots left, so secure it today and make lasting memories! rps205.com/page/summer-programs

This week was the culinary culmination of the Ultimate Chicken Sandwich Contest! All three winning sandwiches hit the lunch menu in RPS 205 schools. The star creations from Andrew, Avery, and Liam were served up to students across the district. Special guest and Tyson rep Jake Wakefield even stopped by the cafeteria to help craft and hand out the winning sandwiches. Shoutout to our student chefs for bringing flavor and creativity to the table!

Next Wednesday: Come check out the works of art from our middle and high school students!

It takes a lot of awesome folks to create an environment for students to have the kind of success RPS athletes experienced last year. Coaches, administrators, parents and guardians all coordinate to train, support, and celebrate a student’s success. Those same coaches that helped create these winning athletes will be coaching our RPS Summer Sports Camps! Our camps are for RPS students going into 4th through 8th grades and only cost $20/week. Who knows? Maybe your child will be RPS 205’s next champion! Register here: https://manage.snap.app/register/rps205

Next Monday: Join us for an evening of incredible student talent and beautiful music. Come support our amazing singers!

RPS 205 high school students joined school board VP Tiana McCall on the Wabongo Leadership Council's annual college tour! This year's Journey to Justice honored civil rights lawyer A.P. Tureaud as students explored HBCU's, LSU, the Whitney Plantation, & Jackson State University.

Come check out our talented musicians next Friday night!

You have four opportunities next week to check out Auburn's theatre production of the Oscar Wilde play "The Importance of Being Earnest". It's a comedy about the tangled affairs of two young men who lead double lives to evade unwanted social obligations.

RPS 205 Business Academy students participated in the the Business Competition at Rockford University. They turned their ideas into reality—crafting & selling products, pitching like pros & building brands. Community judges then voted on who had the best biz skills.
